CRACKER, as he was known to hundreds of friends, adopters, and supporters, was the world’s tallest “SHIRE” horse at 19.2 hands-high! That’s 6ft. 6in. tall at the shoulder! He weighed in at a massive 2,645 lbs! Born in Cricket St. Thomas in Somerset, he spent most of his life near Spilsby in Lincolnshire, UK at the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre. CRACKER was born in 1989 and died in 2007 at the age of 18.
In 2005, he appeared in every national newspaper when he was a contender for the Guiness Book of World Records tallest horse. It turned out that America had the overall tallest horse, but was just one finger taller than CRACKER. Let it be noted that the American horse was NOT a “SHIRE” horse. So, people considered him as the TALLEST “SHIRE” HORSE IN THE WORLD! He often received fan mail and Christmas cards from a lot of supporters at that time.
The first owner of this lounge was a big fan of World Record holders under any categories as they were the “Best of the Best”. He thought this would be a great name for his new lounge . . . and so “THIS” is where the lounge name actually came from!
Thus, . . . CRACKER’S Lounge & Package
